About me
Stuart Kier
Golf Professional
I am a Qualified PGA Professional specialising in tuition. I still love to play competitively but its my coaching of others that really gives me a buzz.
I started my journey at Cold Ashby Golf Club at the age of 17. I learnt very quickly that the Golf Professional role was not all play and practice. You can say this is were I learnt the ropes.
After a brief stint at Staverton Park I was offered the opportunity to go to Kingsthorpe Golf Club to start my PGA training under the mentoring of Paul Armstrong. Whilst there I gained a good understanding of the golf business and what was required of a golf professional.
After passing my exams in 2000 I was offered the position of Head Golf Professional at Banbury Golf Centre. During my time there I developed my style of coaching which is about simplicity. This philosophy is what I continue to use today.
Whilst at Banbury I was introduced to Golf Intergrated which runs coaching weeks for members of the Armed Forces. I still continue to provide coaching for this company.
In 2004 I returned to Northamptonshire to Overstone Park Golf Club. I spent 7 good years there, initially as Golf Shop Manager/Head Professional. After 18 months I relinquished the shop duties to go into full time coaching. This enabled me to take my coaching to another level, embracing the use of technology. During my time at Overstone I coached players of all abilities from beginners to high level amatuers who then later became professionals themselves.
I returned to Kingsthorpe Golf Club as Assistant Manager and gained a complete understanding of what is involved in running the whole golf club facility.
In June 2018 I returned to where my journey began Cold Ashby Golf Club.
I am now located at Rushden Golf Range were I am concentrating on my coaching.
